New Boards & Commissions Training
Join us for an information session for BIPOC leaders about serving on a nonprofit board and/or serving on a public committee for the city, county, or state! There are so many different topics you can advocate for. Everything from tattoo regulation to water and parks, economic strategy, education, sports and everything in between! Plus, there are so many amazing nonprofits looking for incredible leaders like you. This training will explore the opportunities, what you would need to prepare, and offer a chance to connect with community orgs and civic engagement professionals.
We will be joined by three government professionals who are looking to connect to the community on engagement opportunities & appointments:
They are:
Ocean Jasso / Advisory Bodies Program – Office of Community & Civic Life with the City of Portland
Maya Crawford Peacock, JD /Executive Appointments Director, Office of Governor Tina Kotek
Shayna Higashi / Specialized Program Analyst, Lane County
This event is in partnership with the Nonprofit Association of Oregon’s annual Nonprofit Impact conference. You are invited to sign up for the conference as a regular participant or just come to this free training and networking event only. Either works!
(If you are interested in going to the full conference, you can register for NAO’s Nonprofit Impact Conferenceto join two full days of learning, connection, and inspiration with other nonprofits. )
